Eco-Res' approach is based on an affordable and sustainable housing concept developed using best practice from North America. Through government support and funding given over twenty a five year period, United Nations 'Habitat' award winner, Dr Avi Friedman of the McGill University, Montreal, Canada, developed and pioneered a simple, yet meticulous, approach to achieveing true sustainable living by delivering high quality design through the use of fast-track construction techniques and off-site manufacturing processes.
This knowledge together with continuous improvement and development by our retained architects, GWP Architecture, has resulted in them winning three consectutive BREEAM Awards amongst many other prestigious national awards. Recent projects include the first dwelling accredited to European PassivHaus standard in the UK and two projects receiving a BREEAM 'Outstanding' rating.
Our work with and for communities is not confined to bricks and mortar alone. We now assist communities and groups to not only integrate and embed the principles of sustainability and resilience into the fabric of the places we help to create, but also help each person to embrace the wider benefits a low carbon lifestyle can bring.
By working in an authentic partnership with our clients, the end users and the wider business and social community, we are able to maximise the economic, social, learning and environmental potential inherent in all renewal and regeneration projects, by the creation of a sense of place which is in harmony with the planet's needs.
