ECO-RES commit to a continuing programme of design research and development in respect of modern methods of construction and NZC initiatives.

We provide consultancy services relating to improving construction efficiency and sustainable, low energy buildings. Eco-Res has completed projects evaluating off site manufacturing systems and materials, NZC energy technologies and VFM, whole life carbon assessments etc.

Research combines academic work with practice oriented  development and informs the Eco-Res approach to delivering highly sustainable, affordable buildings.

We have worked closely with Professor Avi Friedman*,  head of the Affordable Homes Programme at McGill University, Montreal. Professor Friedman is a world authority on affordable housing, his work being recognised by a United Nations Habitat Award, amongst many others. Work includes study events and collaboration on specific projects.

Research also includes study visits off site manufacturing facilities in north America and Europe to compare best practice.

Recent projects demonstrate that challenging existing construction practices and adopting alternative processes can achieve significant gains when measured against the Governments key performance indicators in Construction.
